Robert Campbell has been flying since 1964. He studied photography at San Francisco State University, and with Ansel Adams in Yosemite in 1968. He is an Airline Transport Pilot, Type Rated in Douglas DC 3 aircraft. He is also an accomplished photographic formation pilot. Additionally, he has extensive experience shooting film, video and still photographs from a variety of fixed and rotary winged aircraft. |

Robert Campbell owns and flies a Helio Courier. Helios were used extensively by the U.S. Air Force and Air America in Southeast Asia during the Viet Nam War because of their unique Short Takeoff and Landing capabilities. The airplane has a fully cantilevered high wing (no strut) for unobstructed visibility and it has more than enough power to get out of its own way. |

Chamois Moon uses Hasselblad, Leica, Fuji and Nikon cameras for our still aerial photography. The cameras are gyro stabilized which enables us to work in turbulence and very early or late in the day. The video and motion picture camera mounts on the Helio Courier are of Robert Campbell's design. The Wing Mount under the left wing is designed to hold Arriflex 35mm motion picture and other professional cameras. Full power, video assist and remote cables are run through the wing. The mount is pre-wired for Sony Betacam with full lens and camera remote. The Interior Camera Mount is on the right side of the airplane. Both camera mounts can be used simultaneously. Monitors and stable 12 volt power are provided. |
